Monkey Orchestra Conductor Band Figurine Meissen Dresden? Blue Scissors Mark.
I tried to find information on this. All I know is that this is called the blue scissors mark and, according to what I’ve read, comes from Germany. I’m not claiming it is Dresden/ Meissen. I really cannot be sure. I know I found other monkey band pieces with this mark at an auction. I’ve also found other monkey pieces identified as the blue scissors mark. It could be an older reproduction. I don’t know. This monkey band leader stands about 7 inches from tip of outstretched hand to end of base. The base has a diameter of about 2 1/2 inches. It has wonderful detail and excellent painting, especially the facial expression and features. It’s obviously well done and obviously old. There are no chips, cracks or crazing.
